What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

The Northeast
The Midland

That's amazing! It put me where I've always lived ;-) I did live on the MA North Shore for one year, but other than that I've lived in the northern middle of the country. I actually sound a tad southern middle at times now as people here in the middle of IL have a touch of a southern accent. I grew up calling carbonated beverages "pop" but call them "soda" now as that is what they call them here in middle Illinois.

This has been a good week. I went to a birthday get together at an Irish pub in Peoria on Tuesday with some of my friends from my fencing club. Thursday I went to fencing and had a good night. I've got my confidence back :-) I also had lunch with my hubby and dinner with my son on Thursday.

Today I'm going to pick up the second lamp with a stained glass shade that I've bought from a neat store we have in our quaint downtown. I'm looking forward to finally getting it as it's been on layaway for ages. Then I'm going to treat myself to lunch at a new place also downtown that has a hotdog cart set up out in front then the inside is a soda fountain. They actually make chocolate sodas!! They have been a life-long love of mine and are also something that I used to do with my Dad when we'd go on vacation trips. We would go into the little towns near where we'd have our trailer at a campground, find a place with a soda fountain, and try out their chocolate sodas. Very fond memories.

Other than that, I'm hoping to write some today, then I'm going to my daughter's for dinner & a movie tonight!

I've never had a chocolate soda! Wow, that sounds yummy.

Please forgive me for not commenting for so long, Pearl! I didn't fully realize until today that you have a new Livejournal under a slightly different name. Did you ever announce your new journal name at "pearl_took1"? But I'm probably the only person who didn't realize you had a name change. So sorry.

What movie are you going to see?

Sorry about leaving you out of the loop, shirebound :-( I thought I had told everyone but apparently I missed you. I'm very sorry, m'dear mentor. I'm very glad you found me!

A chocolate soda is made with chocolate syrup, soda water and vanilla ice cream in a tall glass. A good one is nearly a work of art ;-) The ones at the new place in town are getting better everytime I have one!

Sarah and I rented a movie she had seen before called "In Her Shoes" that was really good.
