I was going to write a mopey, down post.

Changed my mind.

Sarah is coming over for breakfast tomorrow and to do some ebay shopping for Christmas presents for her fiance on my computer.

Justin will be showing up at some time to drop some stuff off and pick some stuff up.

Life can be a royal pain - but it can also be good. I'm reminding myself that I really do have it mostly good :-)

Billy Boyd is still very nice to look at ;-) and I agree with him, Barber's Adagio for Strings is an awesome piece of music!!!

Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings is one of my favourite pieces of music. It just pulls at my heart when I listen to it, the power of its aching beauty forcing me to cry on the inside as its poignant sadness.

Where did Billy Boyd comment on Adagio for Strings?

You are quite right that we need to remind ourselves of how good life can be, especially when we are going through rough patches. Keep your spirits up, my dear, things will get better!

Hi Gryffinjack!

Of course, now that someone asks I can't find where I've read that Billy likes the Barber's Adagio for strings. I've read it on more than one list of his favorite things. His taste in music is varied. In the credits for "The Long and The Short Of It", the short film Sean Astin made while they were filming LOTR, he lists Billy as advising him on the music. It is an operatic piece. When I looked it up, ages ago now when I first watched the little film, I found a translation of it and the words fit what the film is about. So It wouldn't surprise me that Billy would mention the Adagio as one of his favorite pieces of music.

Yes, remembering the good is good to do. Thank you for the encouragement :-)

Hi Ros! (spelled it right ;-) )

I'm glad I did too!

Here's a place where you can download the Adagio :-)

I think it is where I downloaded mine from.
