Muwahahaha!

It has finally happened . . . I'm getting my hubby hooked on the computer!!! He's been on several times over his Thanksgiving break, he's joined a forum, he's started adding people to his email contacts list. There is hope for the man after all :-)

We had a good Thanksgiving. The young'uns came over in shifts on Friday as they both had to work but at opposite ends of the day. Justin wants my good silver. Well, I actually have two sets but one has no knives. He wants the one with the knives. It works out well as Sarah wants the other set anyway. I might give them to them for wedding presents and just buy myself a nice but inexpensive set of stainless for my fancy dinners.

I need to write some stories. Not Marigold's Challenge ones, just I need to write. I've a few things floating about but I'm not sure they'll gell, I need to give them a try and see what happens. It was so fun, I got an enthusiastic review today from a story that I wrote at least a year ago that has never done all that well. That is always so much fun. "It Was A Dark And Stormy . . ." has always been a favorite of mine, along with it's sequel "To Calm A Storm", but a lot of readers aparently weren't ready for a character who is half Elf and half Dwarf.

I need to learn a fiddle piece that a friend at fencing wants me to learn. John asked me, not long after I started to play, to learn "Hillbilly Rabbit", from the old Bugs Bunny cartoon. I'm not sure I'm ready for it yet but I feel badly to keep putting it off. I think it is mostly "Skip To My Lou" and perhaps a bit of "Turkey In The Straw" just with the silly square dance calls from the cartoon.

Ros, all is well re: the Tut exhibit. Bru needed some dental work that he wasn't expecting and with Christmas coming I think it would be a streach to afford it anyway. i mostly miss having an excuse to see you, so we'll have to find another one! Glad you're moved. It is such a horrendous amount of work. I'm hoping I don't have to do it anymore.

Hugs to all!

More converts for the internet. Way to go! I'd gladly give away my silver because I NEVER use it. Funny thing is, I don't think I even know where we've stored it so I'd have to find it to give it away.

I use my silver for Thanksgiving and Christmas, occationally Easter, and that's it. Oh, and sometimes when the regular silverware is all dirty *embarrassed blushing*. If he wants my china, he can have that too, or Sarah can, as I use it about as often as the silver and they are going to end up with it all anyway. The silver and the china are all family heirlooms so it's neat the kids want the stuff. Like I said, I'll just get a set of nice looking stainless with enough for settings for 12 or so for when they all come over and if I give one of them the china, I'll just get some nice stoneware dishes for me. My first set of "good" dishes were stoneware, before my Mom gave me the old set of china.

I love that your kids are interested in the silver. My son is a big fan of paper plates at this point. LOL

Hi!
I replied earlier but LJ glitched and didn't take it, then I got busy :(

Naw, we won't be fighting over the computer :-D He is using a laptop our son has donated to the worthy cause.

Yeah, I missed the Tut Exhibit last time it went around the country as well. *sigh* Ah well, one can't do everything. Right now backing off on spending will lighten hubby's load, which is a more important thing.
