I came here to write though I don't really know what to write. My on going problem with this and all blog type thingys.

Bruce has been asleep most of the afternoon and evening - the result of his second "super" dental appointment and the pain pill that he took once we got home. Just as well as he needs the rest anyway. He currently has two of our cats sleeping with him on the chaise.

Bruce will be gone all this coming week. I wish I could take myself to some place . . . not expensive nor fancy . . . just nice and away from here. But I'm trying to save $$$ not spend it. It would just be so nice to get away for awhile.

We might go and see our fav local bluegrass band, the River Ramblers tomorrow if the weather isn't snowy :) That'll be fun as we've not seen them in a while.

I'm going through my extremely typical thing of feeling mildly down about my writing. Why do I have this absolutely asinine need to feel I'm among "the greats" - whoever they are. It is one of those 'nothing will be enough' type things. Ah well. I've a good number of regular readers. I need to cut myself some slack. It just (like with everything I do) only takes a couple of aspersions to be cast and I lose all confidence.

I'm hoping to have some sort of gestalt, epiphany or something. Something to feel out from under the stress, something to regain some energy, something to bring a smile and sense of accomplishment and enthusiasm.

I'm feeling somewhat stalled with the fiddling. One of those moments I wish I had a live instructor instead of my DVDs. I had a couple of guys at the bluegrass festival last year tell me I need to take a morning, afternoon or evening and play for like 5 hours straight. They said I'll be tired and my fingers will be sore, but that it is a way to make a breakthrough to a new level of playing. I might try it. Right now, I'm listening to Andy Leftwich's CD. He is the 20 something fiddle player for Ricky Scaggs and Kentucky Thunder.

Oh! a fun thing. Bruce and I went out Friday for our anniversary. It was early as the day is the 14th, but he won't be home then. We saw the new Pink Panther and loved it :) What can I say: Steve Martin - great comedian and excellent banjo player :D Then had dinner at Red Lobster :) :)

Yeah, I'm feeling a bit down, too... need something to energize me.

Say - a friend at work LOVED the River Ramblers! If you see them, find out what they're up to, and if they're going to be playing around Indianapolis - please?

Andy Leftwich... any relation to Brad Leftwich of Leftwich and Higginbotham? Jeeze... he might be their SON! O.O!

I am so old.

They're right about the fiddling. There must be somebody you can jam with; that would be the most help!

Wow, I can relate to so much of what you're saying! The wanting to get away for its own sake, the writing thing... *HUG*
Hey, happy anniversary!!! :)
