Hi there! How are you this (at least here) grey morning?
***
Well, the Great Plumbing mystery has been solved - a squirrel had got into the vent pipe for the main drain, which is on the roof. It had become stuck, eventually died (I had heard it scrambling about for a few days, poor critter) and blocked the drain system. Everything is now back together and working well. Better (cost wise) that is was a poor unfortunate squirrel than a collapsed pipe somewhere under the slab our house is on.

Saturday ended up a fun day. Sarah and I went to David's Bridal Store to look for bridesmaid dresses. She had already picked out a dress pattern she wanted for her gown so we weren't looking for a wedding gown. Well, I parked the Bug and we walked toward the store, and there in the windows were signs that their twice a year $99 sale on wedding gowns was going on. We figured, what the heck, we may as well look at wedding gowns. We found one very similar to the pattern she had picked, in her size, for $99!!! This was a $400 gown!!! We were thrilled. We got the gown, veil, a sash and a wedding gown hanging bag all for a wee bit over half of what the gown alone originally cost. Here's the pattern she had chosen and the gown we bought:

I'm writing. I hate to say much as the last time I mentioned I was working on something and now it has sort of faded away, not entirely, just has grown dim. I did get a Marigold's Challenge #27 story written and I'll most likely ask for another starter. But for a change, I actually have a few stories floating about in my head :) It feels good!

I go to a physical therapy appointment today. Last time (a couple of years ago) in about 3 months my arm was doing great - then i quit doing my exercises . . .
So now I'm going back and hoping we can do as well this time except force myself to be good and not let it slide later. I excel at letting things slide *embarrassed blushing*

Now I need to fill out forms and later today I'll be checking on your LJs :)

:)
That's wonderful, I love having stuff like that happen. Sarah looks beautiful. I like the one you bought better than the one on the pattern, mainly because of the sash in the back.

Re: :)
Thank you :) Yes a bit of serendipity is always good. The dress didn't have the sash, they were showing it with another, not on sale, gown. But as they had a display with several different colored sashes by that other dress, I thought I'd ask if we could just purchase a sash with our gown - and they said yes :)

Hi hon! I'm feeling kind of headachy but glad to have the chance to log in (with cat purring next to me).
Aww, poor critter, but I'm glad your plumbing problem was solved.

WOw, those dresses are gorgeous! I'm so happy for you that you got a deal too. Yay! By the way... are bright-colored sashes the new thing in wedding gowns? I like the idea of a splash of color - prevents them all from looking the same.

I hope you feel better!

Thank you :)

Bless your heart and head. You seem to have headache troubles to match your wrist troubles. I'll keep you in thought and prayer.

I guess the sashes are a new option, yeah, since they had them displayed with a "current model" full price gown. Sarah really wanted a touch of red (her colors are deep red, black and silver) and I had added the red to the band and drop sleeve thingys on the pattern because of that. But the sash is cool :)

She's Mom's pretty girl :) She has a pixie face and looks so much better in short hair than I do. The blond is a bleach job. Her hair is darker brown than mine, but her complexion is so fair that the blond really looks better on her.

Say Hi to Shireling and hubby for me and take care of yourself :)

Hugs

Thank you darling, for the good thoughts and prayers. Headache's gone now (so they must have worked!) :-)
*hug* It's going to be a beautiful wedding, to match the bride. :-)

Beautiful bride!!!!

I love to go shopping for wedding dresses. Thankfully it's not me who's having to try them on. lol I love picking out dresses and helping brides decide.

Now, I hope you'll post pics of you when you try on your "mom-of-the-bride" dresses.

Thank you :) Yes, in a way I wish the wedding was sooner. It's Halloween 2007.

If I can stand how I look in them, I'll post pictures :D

They are doing a gangster theme wedding, which is why we were looking at that style of gown for her, and she has mentioned that she would like it if we can find something 30s era for me in the deep red that is one of her colors. We'll have to see what we can find :)
