There actually *is* some joy n Mudville tonight!!

I figured out how to do a database/worksheet in Excel, how to have some of it become a list, and how to get that to merge with Word to become a sheet of mailing lables :-) It only took me about two days - this morning of which was going through several tutorials for Excel online.

Now I just need to get my writing muse to loosen up and give my a story for this coming Marigold's Challenge . . .

. . .

. . .

Nope. Nothing so far. Muses don't like being forced ;-) LOL

Hopefully, she'll come in my sleep like the tooth fairy and I'll wake up with a story in my head. I hope so.

I slept poorly last night so I'm hieing myself thither early tonight. Good night, sweet dreams to all and sundry!!

Ack! No!!! I've not done Christmas cards in ages because I could never seem to actually get them done *and* in the mail.

I'm the leader of a Family Readiness Group for my son's Nat. Guard unit, actually I'm trying to start the group up from scratch as this unit has never had one before. The mailing is for that. If I can't get things rolling and get the help I need (a secretary, treasurer and phonetree person) before the end of November, I'm going to be telling them they need to find someone else to do this. I've been at it since the end of June and I still don't have the group started. Everything has just moved like molasses in January and everytime I think I've made progress it falls back on me. I could go on and on about this, but I'll spare you :-)

I'd still like to try to make it to the Tut exhibit. Hubby and I were thinking of going over the summer, but $50 for the two of us to go seemed awefully steep. Especially when you then figure food and most likely a outside of Chicago motel stay I could swing just covering myself though. Is it open any evenings? A Friday that hubby is off at a seminar could work well, spend the night at your place then drive home on Saturday and be home for when he gets home. Let me know if something like that might work for you.

Evenings... I don't know. I think that would only be for some kind of special showing, like a party. I still don't have a house (darn!), but I'm planning on going with my mom when I get one (November?), because she insists on coming up and helping me with putting away the kitchen stuff when I move in. *G* It's a small price to pay for getting that done! *L*! So I'll let you know when that happens. I can't remember if you work, or if you're free during the week. If you're free during the week, you could come with us. It would probably be a Thursday, with the movers coming Friday, or something like that.

Hopefully we'll work something out!

I'm one of those weird homemaker with grown children types who have most of their days free to be available for various activities :D A Thursday would be wonderful! Let me know as far ahead as you're able, which I realize might not be a lot but do what you can :-) I do sometimes have things on Thursdays but with even a wee bit of notice they can usually be worked around.
