New Grandson alert!

Riley Cooper Richardson
born Dec. 13, 2011
9 lbs. 6 oz. 21 1/2 inches.

Riley, Mom & Dad all fine and healthy. :-)

His birthday is the day before his older sister's! LOL Two years apart almost to the day. I get to go see him this evening. YAY!!

My Mom

Just wanted to let my friends know that my mother passed away Nov. 18th.

She had Alzheimer's and was in really bad shape physically, so it wasn't entirely unexpected. I wasn't close to her. I loved her but didn't like her that much, if you get what I mean. Even so, it is hitting me harder than I thought it would. :-(

She had all her funeral stuff prearranged. She is being cremated. Because that takes the need to do a service right away out of the equation, my brother and I have decided we will have a memorial for her in the spring after the upcoming holidays and winter weather are past.

A gift from a friend

A lovely wee story from my lovely dear friend, Dreamflower.

First Breakfast

Pippin tied the belt of his dressing gown. It was faded and worn and it was too short now, although he thought that probably that was an advantage when it came to the sleeves—they’d been too long, and he’d had to roll them up, but now his arms were free, and he needn’t worry about dragging a sleeve through the fire, or the dishpan either.

He padded into the kitchen and built up the fire in the stove, and then took the kettle to the pump and filled it up and put it on. Then into the larder—there was the bread they had brought from the Hall, the eggs, some sausages, rashers of bacon, potatoes and butter and honey. Some toast and a nice fry up, that would do the trick.

Whistling cheerily he set to work. Wouldn’t Merry be surprised with their first first breakfast at Crickhollow?

Thank you so much, Dreamflower!

2 in one day!

Entries that is.

In my other post today I suggested that those of us in the blizzard zone might bundle up, step outside, and experience a moment of blizzard first hand.

I did.

I was only out for about five minutes. I had actually stepped inside then thought about taking a photo of me, so I was probably snowier before I actually took this. And look how red my face is. WOW! I sure would not want to be out in that mess for very long!

Stay warm and, if at all possible, stay inside my friends!

Hugs to all,

Snow Day

OK. So I don't have an outside the home type job and in some sense every day can be a "snow day" for me. Still, there is a difference when one is really going to get snowed in.

I do hope there won't be too many folks who suffer because of this huge storm. I know there will be some, there always are, but I hope it won't be some huge number.

For the rest of us, I hope we all take time to enjoy this break in our usual schedules. These can be wonderful times to do something we don't usually do, or those things that seem to always get put off because it's only something we want to do for ourselves and not something we have to do . Watch a favorite movie with your family. Play a game. Maybe even bundle up really well and step just outside your door and feel what a blizzard is like before dashing back inside for some hot coffee, tea or cocoa. Stand at your windows and watch the snow. Look at the different types of snow flakes. Watch how they move in the wind. Enjoy not having to go anywhere!

If you are one who has to go somewhere - please be very careful. Please take a blanket, water and food with you because even in town you can get stuck in this kind of weather.

I'll be washing dishes and writing today. Reading "The Johnstown Flood" by David McCullough as well and hoping we don't see such a disaster. I hope everyone who reads this is in a good place to weather the storm if you're in an area affected by it!

Hugs to all!

Happy New Year!

A very Happy New Year to all my friends. May this year be better than last for us all.

If you need something to do today, whether you are nursing a hangover or just need something other than parades and bowl games - there are bunch of new LOTR fanfiction stories on the LOTR Community Challenge LJ page here:  http://community.livejournal.com/lotr_community We have stories for pretty much every taste including the Doctor Who/LOTR crossover that I wrote for Dreamflower.  If you read some stories, don't hesitate to leave a comment for the author even if it's only to say you liked the story. We authors thrive on comments ;-)

Have a good New Year's Day!

Hugs to all,

Merry Christmas Everyone! :-)

Hi all my friends!

I hope you all have a good Holiday Season. I do know that it won't be an easy one for many of you, but I'm hoping that there will be some good times and warm feelings nonetheless.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Thank you for being my friends.

Love and Hugs!

My Family - Christmas 2010

I'm Flabbergasted!

I just found out this morning that my first article for Demand Studios was accepted after my rewrite!

:-D :-D

I'm completely amazed!

Just dropping by to say Hi and that I'm tired.

I had a busy weekend. I'm a low energy person. I just spent part of yesterday and all of today writing my first article for Demand Studios.

I better learn how to do those articles faster than that or this isn't gonna work too well for me.  LOL  It isn't even finished yet because I haven't typed it in on their form at the site yet.  I'll do that later tonight or tomorrow.

At least I got it done! :-)  :-)

Hugs to all!

On my way with a new career opportunity

I've jumped off a new cliff.

I applied to and have been accepted by Demand Studios. They are a go-between for web sites needing non-fiction articles and freelance writers looking for work. I have a good friend who has been writing for them for about 5 or 6 months and she loves it. So . . .

We'll see how it goes as I'm definitely more accustomed to writing fiction than non_fiction. I'm really excited about it and plan on spending this afternoon getting started.

Hugs to all!
